Subaru Warranty Coverage

This warranty covers basic and major components for 36 months or 60,000 km.

Subaru Canada, Inc. warrants that each part of every new Subaru vehicle will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the first 36 months or 60,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first. Warranties start on the date the vehicle is delivered to the first retail purchaser. If the vehicle was previously used as a demonstrator, warranties begin on the date it was placed in service as a demonstrator. Original tires are not covered by this warranty; they are covered by the tire manufacturer's warranty on defects in materials and workmanship.

This warranty continues to protect major components for 60 months or 100,000 km.

When the new vehicle limited warranty expires, major components remain covered for a total of 60 months from the original registration date or up to 100,000 km, whichever occurs first. This warranty is provided at no charge to the original owner and can be transferred to subsequent owners when they register with Subaru Canada, Inc. If, under normal use and maintenance, a covered component requires repair or replacement during the warranty period, the cost of parts and labor will be fully covered.

Covered Major Components:
Engine: Engine block, cylinder heads, oil pump, oil pan, timing chains/belts, water pump, flywheel, intake and exhaust manifolds, mounts, seals
Transmission & Differential: Housing and internal parts, torque converter, electronic control units, seals
Suspension & Axles: Bushings, control arms, hubs, bearings, CV joints, driveshaft
Brakes: ABS components, VDC module
Restraint Systems: Seat belts, airbag modules
Fuel System: Fuel pump
Steering: Rack and pinion, power steering pump, steering column

This warranty protects painted and visible body panels against surface corrosion for 36 months or 60,000 km.

Surface corrosion limited warranty guarantees that visible painted body panels on each Subaru vehicle will be free from surface corrosion for a period of 36 months from the original registration date or up to 60,000 km, whichever occurs first. If any visible corrosion defects are found during the coverage period and after proper maintenance, the cost of original panel repairs will be fully covered.

This warranty covers perforation due to corrosion of body panels for 60 months, regardless of mileage.

Subaru Canada, Inc. warrants that all external body panels on each new Subaru vehicle will be free from perforation (rust-through) due to corrosion for 60 months from the original registration date, with no mileage limit. Any panel that becomes perforated under normal use will be repaired or replaced at no cost to the owner.

This warranty covers the majority of emissions system components for 36 months or 60,000 km.

Subaru Canada, Inc. warrants that each Subaru vehicle is designed, built, and equipped to meet Canadian emission control requirements. Any component preventing compliance is covered.

This warranty covers repairs needed to keep the vehicle in compliance with emission performance standards for 36 months or 60,000 km.

Repairs are covered if the vehicle fails an emissions test under normal conditions and has been maintained according to Subaru Canada's recommended schedule.

This warranty continues to protect the major emissions system components for 96 months or 130,000 km.

It covers catalytic converters, ECU/ECM modules, and the onboard diagnostic system.
